The number that decides it

Air conditioning cools the air. Air cooling changes it — for about an eighth of the cost.

A split unit takes the same air, chills it, and pushes it back into a sealed room. It has to fight every kilowatt of machine heat, every square metre of hot roof and every open shutter. On a factory floor that is an expensive fight.

An evaporative system does something different. It draws hot outside air through wet honeycomb pads, so the air gives up its heat to evaporate the water and arrives cooler and fresher. There is no compressor and no refrigerant gas — the whole machine is a fan, a pump and a pad. That is why a 30,000 CMH unit runs on 3 kW while the air conditioning tonnage it replaces runs on 25 or more.

When the cooler cannot sit where the heat is

Plenty of buildings cannot take a cooler on the wall — a partitioned office floor, a banquet hall with a finished ceiling, a clean production area, a shed where every side wall is racked out to the roof.

The answer is to put the machine outside on a plinth or a roof and duct the air in. That turns the job into an engineering exercise: duct sizing so velocity stays low enough to be quiet, static pressure the blower can actually overcome, diffuser placement so the air reaches people rather than the ceiling, and a return path so the building does not pressurise. Get any of those wrong and the system is noisy, weak, or both.

This is the work the company is named after. We size the ducting, fabricate it, install it and commission it with anemometer readings at the diffusers, so you have measured airflow rather than an assurance.

How a project runs

Five stages, and you always know which one you are in

No cooling system should be bought off a price list. The survey is free and it is where the money is saved — an accurate heat load usually means fewer units than a catalogue guess.

Free site survey and heat-load study

We measure the floor, the roof height, the shed construction, machine heat, occupancy and the openings, then calculate the air changes your building actually needs.

System design and written quotation

Model selection, unit positions, duct layout where required, electrical load and water supply — priced in writing, with the assumptions stated so you can check them.

Manufacture and supply

Units are built to the agreed specification with 100 mm honeycomb pads and dispatched with the mounting hardware, so nothing stalls on site.

Installation and commissioning

Plinths or brackets, water line, electrical connection, ducting and diffusers, then airflow measured at the outlets and handed over on paper.

Service, spares and pad changes

Pads, pumps and float valves are consumables. We keep them in stock and offer an annual pre-summer service so the system is ready before April, not during May.

Questions we are asked before every order

How much does an industrial air cooler cost to run compared to air conditioning?

On the basis printed in our catalogue — a 1,000 sq.ft floor, 10 hours a day, electricity at ₹10 per unit — air conditioning that space needs about 8 ton of capacity, roughly 9 kW, which is 90 units a day or ₹900 a day. The equivalent air cooling duty draws about 1.1 kW, 11 units a day, or ₹110 a day. That is around 88% less. Our catalogue puts the payback on the equipment at 12 to 18 months. Your actual figures depend on your tariff, your hours and your roof, which is what the savings calculator is for.

Will an evaporative air cooler work where I am, or is it only for dry heat?

Evaporative cooling works by evaporating water into the air, so the drier the incoming air, the bigger the temperature drop. In Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and most of central and north India, May and June are hot and dry — the best possible conditions. In coastal humidity the temperature drop is smaller, but high air-change ventilation still removes accumulated machine heat and roof heat, which is often the actual problem on a factory floor. How many coolers will my shed need?

It is driven by air changes, not by tonnage. As a working rule we design for 12 CMH per sq.ft in offices and showrooms, about 16.7 in warehouses and halls, 22 on production floors and 30 where there is serious process heat such as a kitchen or a foundry. A 5,000 sq.ft factory bay at 22 CMH/sq.ft needs about 1,10,000 CMH — four AirX 30K units, or three AirX 50K. The calculator will size it in a few seconds, and a free site survey confirms it properly.

Can your coolers be connected to ducting?

Yes — that is what the Blow-X series is built for. A blower generates the static pressure needed to push air along a duct run and out through diffusers, so the machine can sit outside on a plinth or a roof while the cool air is delivered exactly where people work. Axial-fan units such as the Air-X range move more air for less power but cannot overcome long duct runs. See ducted air cooling.

Do you only sell the machines, or do you install as well?

Both, and we would rather do the whole job. A turnkey Dr. Duct project covers the site survey and heat-load study, system and duct design, manufacture and supply, plinths and mounting, water and electrical connection, ducting and diffusers, commissioning with airflow readings, and an annual service option. Buying six coolers and installing them in the wrong positions is the most common way a cooling project disappoints.
