Almost every disappointing air-cooling installation in India comes from one decision made wrongly. It is not the brand, the size or the price — it is whether the machine moves air by volume or by pressure.

Both series use the same 100 mm honeycomb pads and the same evaporative principle. The difference is entirely in how the air is moved, and therefore in what the machine can be asked to do. If you are not sure which applies to your building, that is exactly what the free site survey settles.

All models use 100 mm honeycomb cooling pads and auto-fill water tanks. Cooling areas are indicative for normal ceiling height and moderate heat load; a production floor with machine heat needs more air per square foot than a showroom, which is why we size from a survey rather than from a table. Weights shown are operating weight with the tank full — allow for this when planning roof or bracket mounting.

How the machine works
Three stages, no refrigerant, no compressor
Worth understanding before you buy, because it explains both what evaporative cooling is very good at and where it is the wrong answer.
Water wets the pad
A small pump lifts water from the tank at the base of the cabinet to a distributor at the top. The water trickles down through a 100 mm honeycomb pad, soaking it evenly, and the surplus drains back into the tank. Nothing is wasted except what actually evaporates.
Hot air gives up its heat
The fan pulls hot outside air through the wet pad. To evaporate that water the air has to give up heat — roughly 680 watt-hours for every litre — so the air arrives on the other side of the pad cooler and carrying more moisture. No compressor, no refrigerant, no gas.
Cool air is delivered and replaced
The cooled air is pushed into the space and the air already in there is pushed out through openings, taking machine heat, fumes and stale air with it. That continuous replacement is why an evaporative system works with the shutters open, which no air conditioner can do.
Before the units arrive
What a Dr. Duct unit needs on site
Short list, and none of it is exotic. We confirm all three at the survey and put the requirement in writing on the quotation so nothing is discovered on installation day.
Water
A ½-inch tap or feed line within reach of each unit. The tanks are auto-fill, so once the line is connected there is nothing to top up by hand. A drain point makes the annual clean-out easier but is not essential.
Power
A dedicated power point per unit, sized to the model. The load is small — the whole point of the category — so an existing distribution board is usually adequate. We confirm phase and cable sizing at survey and state it on the quotation.
An opening, or a duct
Air-X units need a wall or roof opening to draw from and discharge through. Blow-X units need a duct route. Where neither exists yet, we mark it up during the survey so your civil contractor knows exactly what to cut before the machines arrive.

Product questions we are asked most
Should I buy an axial-fan cooler or a blower?
If the cooler can sit on the wall of the space it is cooling and blow straight in, buy axial — the Air-X series moves far more air per kilowatt. If the air has to travel through a duct to reach the space, buy a blower — the Blow-X series generates the pressure needed to overcome the duct. Putting an axial unit on a long duct run is the single most common mistake in this category: the fan cannot overcome the resistance, airflow collapses, and the customer concludes that evaporative cooling does not work.
How many units will I need?
Work from air changes, not tonnage. Multiply your floor area by the CMH per sq.ft your duty needs — about 12 for offices and showrooms, 16.7 for warehouses and halls, 22 for production floors, 30 where there is heavy process heat — then divide by the CMH of the model you are considering. A 5,000 sq.ft godown at 16.7 CMH/sq.ft needs about 83,500 CMH: four AirX 25K, or two AirX 50K. The savings calculator does this arithmetic for you.
What are the prices?
We quote per project rather than publishing a price list, because the honest answer depends on the number of units, the discharge configuration, whether ducting and diffusers are in scope, and how much installation work the site needs. Pricing is manufacturer-direct — there is no dealer margin in a quotation that comes from us. Send us the floor area and we will come back in writing, usually within one working day.
What is a honeycomb pad and why does 100 mm matter?
The pad is the part that does the cooling: a block of cross-fluted cellulose that holds water across a very large surface area while still letting air through. Depth controls how long the air is in contact with the water, which controls how much of the theoretical temperature drop you actually get. Thin pads — 25 mm or 50 mm, common on domestic coolers — give up a lot of that drop. Every model in the Dr. Duct range uses a full 100 mm pad.
How much water does a unit consume?
Only what evaporates, which is what does the cooling. The tank capacity on the specification sheet is a buffer, not a daily consumption figure — the auto-fill valve keeps it topped up from your water line. Consumption rises with how hot and dry the day is, because that is exactly when the machine is working hardest and cooling best.
What maintenance does the machine need?
Three consumable parts and one habit. Drain and rinse the tank at the start and end of the season so mineral sludge does not build up; check the pump and float valve at the same time; and replace the pads when they harden or scale, typically every one to three seasons depending on your water. We stock all three parts and offer a pre-summer service so the system is ready in March, not halfway through May.
