A factory roof, a hall full of people and a bank of machines are all heat sources an air conditioner has to fight. Evaporative cooling does something different: it changes the air many times an hour and carries the heat outside instead of chilling it in place.

Every sector below shares one requirement — people, animals or a process that needs a constant supply of outside air. Air conditioning recirculates the same air; evaporative cooling brings in 100% fresh air on every pass, which is why it suits crowded and working spaces.

The honest test
If your space is large, has people or a process in it, and can let air out through a door, louvre or vent, evaporative cooling almost certainly fits. If it must be sealed and dehumidified, it does not — and we would rather tell you that now.

Which industries is evaporative air cooling actually suitable for?
Any space that is large, occupied or working, and has a way to let air out — factories, warehouses, showrooms, schools, banquet halls, poultry sheds, temples, workshops and depots all qualify. The common thread is fresh air and air movement over a big floor. Where it does not fit is a small sealed room that needs dehumidified, tightly controlled air, such as a server room or a cold store: that is an air conditioning job and we will say so.
My building has heavy machine heat. Will cooling cope?
This is exactly what high air-change cooling is for. On a production floor the problem is not just the outside temperature — it is the heat the machines and the roof pour in all day. Trying to chill that in a sealed room is expensive and slow. Pushing 20 to 30 air changes an hour of cooled fresh air through the space carries the heat straight back out, which is why factories are one of our largest application areas. See factory cooling.
Do you cool spaces that are only busy occasionally, like a banquet hall?
Yes, and they are a good fit. A marriage garden or community hall fills to capacity for a few hours and sits empty the rest of the week. Sizing air conditioning for that peak is very expensive to buy and to run. Evaporative cooling handles the full crowd at a fraction of the running cost, and the plant can sit outside so guests never hear it — see banquet hall cooling.
Is it hygienic for hospitals, kitchens and animal sheds?
The single most important thing is fresh air, and evaporative cooling delivers 100% fresh air rather than recirculating it. Pads and water do need routine maintenance to stay clean, which we cover at handover and in a service visit — neglected pads are the source of most complaints about smell. For livestock and produce the added humidity and air movement are a benefit, not a drawback, which is why agro and dairy sheds rely on it.
Can one system cover a building with very different areas?
Usually yes, by zoning. A factory with an open shop floor, a packing area and a partitioned office does not want one solution everywhere: the floor takes wall or roof-mounted Air-X units, while the offices and packing area take ducted Blow-X delivery so the plant stays outside. We design the zones at the survey rather than forcing one approach across the whole building.
